Accidental luxuries

Finding $10 in a winter coat pocket.

No dog outside the shower door to step over.

Opening a doc to find a chapter half-written.

Yours?

more finished projects in the knitted-finished-projects to-gift container than I remember making.
Whole scene I thought was still in my head already input into revision.
Finding the name for the brain tree: osage orange, in a novel I’m reading, while I’d left it blank in the novel I’m writing!
Finding this post, which has made me grateful. Thank you!

Drinking MinuteMaid berry punch + sprite or sierra mist out of a wine glass. It brings me so much pleasure. I feel luxurious and full of wealth. Unexplainable really……
I’m actually having a glass right now!

This morning I asked my husband to drop me off at the market on his way to work, and when I went to kiss him goodbye, he said he’d wait for me and drive me home. I thought I was going to have to walk ten minutes with all the groceries. So sweet.

Coming here to find good stuffs always, three teenagers at school, a big honking cup of coffee waiting for me in the pre-set pot, finding little hidden away shops and places to buy Christmas gifts far from the maddening crowd.

Having lunch with a new friend (a woman I met at my Victory for Obama party) and finding out all the wonderful things we have in common, and all the wonderful things we don’t!

Waking up in the morning with a completely new chapter written in my head.

Having one of my cats who is not a lap kitty, jump in my lap!

Thank you, Amy. How lovely at the end of a day to see this cheerful blog. My accidental luxury was finding a warm wrap bathrobe yesterday — even though I promised myself I would never wear a wrap robe unless it was hanging in the bathroom in a suite at the Plaza! http://www.ritawatson.com

Ah, my kids are very young, my favorite Accidental Luxury is getting to use the bathroom all. by. my. self. With no interuptions.
That, and a little instant message or text from my husband that says “I’ll pick up the kids.” Ahhh bliss!

Sheesh, I need to smell the roses more. Hmm…

Cats waiting to be petted when you get out of the shower. (Totally inspired by you, LOL. I’m so uncreative when on demand!)

Digging through some old ideas, and finding an outline with a bunch of notes for a script. At the time (four months or so ago,) I thought it was a terrible idea. Now, it seems a lot better. Going to start working on it again.

My coworker giving me some chocolates for my daughter, and her saying, “We’re having secret Santa at school, and we have to get some chocolate…” YAY!
