Bend when the wind blows

Even though we had a snow storm this week, it’s Spring Break around here.  That means no bedtime, no wake-up time and no schedule.  Aargh and Yay!

When I get on the treadmill, my daughter calls to be picked up.  When I sit down to write, a parade of teenagers emerges.  When I’m inspired to finish an essay I remember I said I’d make dinner (Cheerios anyone?) and when I want to spend the day cleaning up a few pitches and rewriting a chapter, I realize the rain has passed, the wind is still, and this might be the day to trek to a mall 45 minutes away for a promised shopping trip with my daughter.

These are all good interruptions, if you know what I mean.  It’s not serious stuff, yet it still reminds me to bend when the wind blows, take it as it comes, see the good in the bad, embrace unexpected opportunities…yadda yadda yadda.  All that reminded me of one of my all-time favorite songs that has played in my car, house and head for the better part of seven years.

Enjoy.  I’m no music afficianado, to me, it’s always about the words.

    Love it!

I’ve been bending with the wind for a quite some time now -especially the last 7 years. It’s all we can ever do.

    Mindy,
I know you have! I appreciate those little internal reminders sometimes though – so I don’t forget.

This has been my week too. No spring break – all web design. I’ve opened my wip a couple times and even moved a note I made for the next section I’m supposed to write, but I haven’t actually written anything. I am thinking about it though and I’m hopeful the scene will burst into my head so I can get it out of me.

Umm, I’m a but wired. Sorry if this is rambling. :)

OMG, this is my life. Demon Baby is naked right now and is hungry. Oldest Son is home sick from school with a sore throat, I contracted shingles. Baby Girl has a project due. My phone just rang with crappy news. I mean . . . my LIFE. LOL!

    I totally hear you, Amy.

Cheerios for dinner are the bomb. So is oatmeal.

I have a feeling our spring break next week (well, Mimi’s) is going to be full of what I like to call “those unscripted moments.” ;-)

Oh gosh, Amy, I hear you! My life has been chaotic, lately. I’ve been trying to steal moments to write, and I’m cherishing them. In that respect, I guess it’s been good, you know? I appreciate it more.
