What would you do?
Ok, that’s what Jackson Pearce would do.
Here’s what I would do:
If I were a famous author I would always wear my glasses. People with glasses always look smart even when they’re just trying to remember if they shut the garage.

See?
If I were a famous author I would edit my favorite T shirt:

The new shirt would say, “Be Careful Or You’ll End Up In My NEXT Novel.”
If I were a famous author I would have a shabby chic office. I’m not sure why, but it’s how I’ve always envisioned my dream-office — which of course I would have as a famous author. Because all famous authors have the office of his or her dreams.

But most of all, if I was a famous author, people would care about what I was going to do as a famous author. (See above.) And I’d probably be able to write a book about it, being a famous author and all.

Loved this!!! LOL!
When I wear my glasses, my daughter says I look like a “very hot lesbian”–whatever that means. They’re studious–but with rhinestones. I guess she thinks they’re glasses Ellen and Portia would wear.
Not a mom of four.
And I, too, picture a shabby chic office. Or at least one without all the clutter.
E
hehehe. You know I’ve questioned a few times if I would want to be a famous author. It’s definitely financial security (as long as you invest well. I mean MC Hammer ended up poor cause he was buying golden water faucets for his mansion.)
I don’t really think much would change for me if I was a famous author, except that total strangers would treat me like a non human. Fans would elevate me to god status and I would have a hard time making new friends (part of the reason for a pen name. Not everybody needs to know I’m a writer.)
People who disliked my work, or me without even knowing me wouldn’t be shy about sharing that.
And there would always be pressure to keep improving lest my former fans who adored me turn on me.
So while “New York Times Bestselling author” sounds good on paper, and I admit the ego gratification alone would be pretty cool and validating, there are also pitfalls and bad things about it. I’m not sure I’m in a big hurry to get there.
Love your new home.
I didn’t know that in addition to the many other “hats” you wear a teacher would be one of them.
Thanks “Teach” I actually learned a few things about writing today.
Thanks for sharing!
I also love your new home! Oooh, so fancy!!
So, is that the real you? I’ve never seen a pic!
Hmmm, famous author? After buying my own home and putting in a little hot tub and hearty vegetable garden… I’d open a local community center for kids, with free reading and writing classes for the young and old.
