How did the settlers do it?

We lost power today for a few hours.

I sat still.

I read a book.

I scribbled notes on paper by hand.

I did not open the refrigerator or the laptop.

I plugged a phone into the wall.

I opened the garage door manually.

Frankly,

I’m exhausted.

OMG! We lose power a lot and the hardest is not opening the refrigerator! Glad to have you back in the land of the wired.

Braying like a donkey over here! Living in hurricane alley, we’re used to those hot dark inconveniences for weeks at a time. Add in displaced relatives, friends and pets for 10 days during Gustav…and you can imagine the par-tay.

How many times did you hit the light switch? :) (In desperate times, the uninitiated head for the mall to soak up the sights and A/C.)

There’s a scheduled power out here for about 9 hours one day next week. The mind boggles as what I might accomplish.

Or maybe I’ll take the laptop out by the pool instead. ;)

Love it. My husband went completely bonkers when we lost power for several days due to a hurricane. I write by hand often and so it doesn’t faze me.
