In honor of going tri

Did you know that if you’re wearing tri-focals for the first time ever and you tip your head from side to side that everything sort of moves?  It looks like a wave and produces the same effect.  Nausea — which I’ve been assured will go away with time.  It’s kind of cool to look through three different sections of one lens.  And sort of not.  I spend so much time on the computer that I’m actually getting computer glasses too — the middle prescription will take up the entire lens.  Just another pair of glasses to lose on a daily basis, because I might have tri-focals but I am NOT wearing them on a chain around my neck.

Not yet anyway.

So in honor of my eyesight, I’m offering something for you to watch.  Yes, another give-away.  This one has nothing to do with writing or books.  It has everything to do with the fact that it’s brand new and we have two.

It’s Planet Earth, The Complete Series, valued at $59.99 on Amazon.

Just leave me a comment and tell me if this is something you’d really watch – or even better – if you know someone who’d love it that you could give it to.  It’s unopened. Brand new.  It was one of Oprah’s favorite things last year.  It’s a great gift.

But no one needs two of these.

Remember, if you’re related to me or annoy me, you won’t win…and on Monday, December 15 I’ll use a nifty random chooser thingy to choose one lucky winner.  You must live in the USA too (although I adore my Canadian friends, I just am not fully evolved enough to do international mailing at this time of year).

You’ll get it before Hanukkah or Christmas.  Plenty of time to enjoy it or give it to someone else to enjoy.

I would absolutely love to win this for our family! I’ve heard great things about the series and can’t think of a better way to teach my kids to be eco-friendly and care about the Earth. Thanks for the giveaway!

Discovery and the History Channel are right behind ESPN Sports Center in the channels my husband watches most (although I did catch him watching Little House on the Prairie once). I’m quite sure my husband would watch this over and over (probably as much as he watches “Rudy” on dvd).

I am delighted that my kids have caught snippets of this series on TV and absolutely loved it. “Mom! Come watch this Planet Earth episode with me! It’s great!”–who wouldn’t love to hear words like that? Count me in–washing the dishes (or whatever) can wait!

My oldest son (age 21) recommended this series highly, and coming from someone who thinks Homer Simpson is IT, I couldn’t have been happier to see that he was watching something good once in awhile.

So much for 2,498 channels and nothing to watch!

This would be great must-see TV for my kids and I–Would Love them to watch something other than iCarly!

I would love this for my family, too. Though I’d be happy to pass it on to my boys’ school after we’ve watched it.
    TRI-focals?! Maybe I need new glasses. I thought you’d upgraded to bi-focals.

I would love this for my daughter, who is six, and wakes up saying things like “Mommy, why are wasps more aggressive at the end of the year? And what does aggressive mean?”
Thanks, and good luck with the issues of vision!

Every time I’m at Costco or Amazon, I look at the DVD set. I really want it, but haven’t taken the plunge to buy it yet. Would love to win so I can watch it with the kids. Thanks for the giveaway!

Because I’m a Canadian, and therefore excluded (what if I paid for my own shipping? :) ), I’ll just leave a post as per how utterly amazing this series truly is. We watched all of the episodes via the CBC over the past year and not only is the cinematography amazing but the information (and narration) are also top rate. The most fascinating part? The episode where they explore the oceans and seeing those evolutionary blind fish. I love those darn fish.

I want this because I’m one of those losers who records everything on her DVR, knowing that she’ll never get around to popping the popcorn and watching it with her kids, and then when the inevitable happens and the DVR breaks and has to be turned in for a new one she loses all of her shows and cries.

This would be fun for the hubby and my 4 year old son who loves to talk about planets and earth but really doesn’t have much to say on the topic yet! Would be fun and educational.
P.S. Love the comment above from the excluded Canadian.

Everyone in my house would love it–but I think I would be mesmerized. But I also think I am one of the ones who annoy you!

My husband is without question the most difficult person to buy gifts for, and I think he would actually love this! It’s something he could share with our boys, who all dig this kind of thing. Who knows, I might even pop up some corn and hang out in the man room with them. Thanks.

My husband would be forever indebted to you if we won this! He lives for the Discovery Channel. When I wake up in the morning he’s reading articles about our dear planet online. He’s already told me he wants this. :) Please please please!

Can we enter more than once?

Oh! And even though I live in Mexico, my parents are coming here in January so they could bring it for me. In fact, my dad is in Chicago a lot so I might even be able to convince him to PICK IT UP. No shipping! Eh? Eh?

    :)

I would love to win this DVD set. My husband and I watch the series when it was on TV and really enjoyed it. I would love to wrap this up and surprise him with it for Christmas!

    Thanks

My Dad has been asking for this for ever!! I would love to give it to him for Christmas from my boys! I would also love for my sons to have a copy, especially my 2.5yr old who can spend an hour looking through his book of animals asking me what sound each one makes…. who knows what sound a white-tailed deer makes? I just make it up. :) Thanks so much!! I REALLY want to win this one.

We are a homeschooling family without cable – but we caught an episode of this while at grandma’s house and thought it was FABULOUS. My 8 year old son is especially interested in science – so this would be an ideal Christmas gift for him!

    Thanks for doing this!
