Jumbo shrimp

We writers are a clever lot. Not only do we use words well, we have great words for doing so — my favorite being the omnipotent OXYMORON.

If you haven’t had your coffee, an oxymoron is a phrase in which two words of contradictory meaning are used together for a special effect. One of my favorites? Good divorce. Another? Unusual routine. One more for good measure? Crash landing. One for the road? New classic.

And now, unless you have a scheduled emergency, tell me your favorite oxymoron.

Amy, Had to stop back. I got my fam started on oxymorons, and my daughter, who is studying for the Praxis, just yelled out to me: Deafening Silence. You got us going here.
