I would say historic, but Spy explained it better.

    How about “monumental”?

When my brain freezes on a word, I simply swap choices. Today is a red letter day. hehe

You know, I’ve never thought about it before. I believe it’s historic, but I could be wrong. That’s what sounds right to my writing ear (I totally made that term up!).

Isn’t it both? Let’s think – in book selling it’s a noun, as in “Historical” when referring to the sub-genre, right? But then it’s an adjective either way otherwise.

See, this is one of those moments where when there is no answer, you just don’t use it at all. lol

As with ironic and ironical — shorter is generally preferred, unless there is some scansion consideration.

Got this off of Thesaurus.com…my favourite place!! :)

“Historic means ‘noteworthy, highly significant,’ whereas historical means ‘pertaining to history, relevant to the passage of time’; if something has a place in history, it is historic, and if something has to do with the subject of history, it is historical.”

So I think today would be historic!!!

I also wonder if it’s “a historic day” or “an historic day.”

But you’ve raised another question: which ever or whichever?
